hello all

i have set up an asterisk box (im very new to all of this so please bear with me )

i can call extension to extension that works fine. but i cant figure out how to make asterisk connect to my external sip gateway it is a "Pheenet VG-1440R"

this gateway has 4 FXO ports on the back to which i have plugged a phone line into

how do i point asterisk at the gateway? Many thanks!!

yes i have been looking throught the manual but it doesnt include any infomation regarding how to connect asterisk to the gateway

surely somebody out there must be using these boxes instead of cards?

any ideas anyone?

why not look at the packet log from the VG gateway to see what the messages are to/from the gateway? Also what happens to the FXO ports i.e. on hook/off hook/whatever?
