Being the adventurous sort I am, I downloaded the nightly snapshot for
the wct1xxp driver from the location specified on the BSD page on the wiki,
to see how far things have come along. It compiled fine, latest release libpri
and Asterisk compiled okay too. The driver loads without too many complaints,
except one really. This keeps showing up, over and over, in /var/log/messages:
ints == 5
ints == a
The repeat multiple times a second sometimes, but it doesn't seem to affect
the line from coming up with no alarms after about 10 seconds (zttool shows
no alarm). Now, asterisk starts, sees the new channels with "zap show
channels", but "pri show span 1" shows this:
mart-pbx*CLI> pri show span 1
Primary D-channel: 24
Status: Provisioned, Down, Active
The "Down" part is curious. Any attempted call outbound of course fails,
Asterisk complaining that all lines are busy.
Here is my zaptel.conf:
loadzone=us
defaultzone=us
# SBC PRI
span=1,1,0,esf,b8zs
bchan=1-23
dchan=24
# TDM400 bridge to analog PBX
fxsks=25-28

My fault. Forgot to remove debug output. Get the current version.

You should build asterisk against libpri from CVS. Older version had
wrong byte order detection, they will not work. I've made libpri 1.0.1 port
with given patch, but it is not commited yet.

I completely wiped my old zaptel build to be sure, then downloaded the
latest version via svn, but I still see the same repeating debug messages in
/var/log/messages. Is there another source I am not familiar with?

Same procedure as above.. wiped libpri 1.0.2 and asterisk clean from my
system, then started from scratch, downloading libpri and asterisk from CVS
this morning (3 Nov 2004), still same effect. ztcfg doesn't report any
problems, zttool reports no alarms, but "pri show span 1" reports the
status:
*CLI> pri show span 1
Primary D-channel: 24
Status: Provisioned, Down, Active
This PRI works perfectly on a Cisco 5300, incidentally. Are there other
concerns that I could look at, perhaps the card rev? I should also add
this is under FreeBSD 5.2.1.
