Hi all
I have just added a new application to the list.
It's app_rtsp (http://sip.fontventa.com/content/view/27/54/) and
it does what it's supposed to do, connect to a rtsp server and
play an url.
I think it can be very usefull for integrating network cameras in
any video ivr service (I have tested it with app_mp4 and the
results are very impresive :)
I have only tested with a vivotek mpeg4 camera so probably there
would be a lot of bugs still, if you find any, well, just tell me...
As many cameras are mainly mpeg4 I'm preparing a video transcoder
application to be able to use it with a h263 videophone and also
with the h324m gateway.

Ok, I'll take a look

Open issue reports for the modules you want to contribute and we'll
discuss
it in the bug tracker. As soon as you have opened issue reports, send
a mail
to this mailing list so everyone here is aware of it and can join in
with test reports,
comments and suggestions.
There are libraries we can't use in the standard distribution, mainly
libraries
with GPL licenses or licenses that conflict with Asterisk licensing.
Let's figure
that out as we move along.
It's a pitty then because the only application i can contribute then is the
app_rtsp.
The h324m library uses pwlib for asn1, the app:mp4 the mpeg4ip library and
the transcoder the libavocdec from ffmeg.

For the app_rtsp - have you looked into using our rtp stack? It would
give you much more, like rtcp.
The rtp code is just 60 lines long (with comentaries) so i don't think it's
worthy.
Appart of that in the http tunnel model the rtp streams come in the same
tcp socket as the previous rtsp responses, so i think i would also have to
implement it on my own.

Yes, of course, it will be great to have my code into the asterisk
project.
What would you need?

could come
up.

One question
How is chan_h323 integrated into asterisk, doesn't it use a gpl
library?
Digium has given a special license (see the LICENSE file) to allow
linking
of Asterisk with OpenH323, which I belive use MPL, not GPL.
/O

I'm asking that because the only library I need for the h324m library
is just the pwlib (which is used in openh323).
Could we do just the same to integrate it?
Greetings

If you use the same libraries - pwlib - as chan_h323, then there's no
issue
with the license.
