Afternoon all,
Jared Smith and I would like to have a conference call Sunday evening to
discuss the layout and direction of the Asterisk documentation project. We
both feel that the layout we have is a good start, but it needs to be
revised. I would consider what we have so far a first or second draft.
What we need is someone to host the conference for us. We would like to
have both VoIP access via SIP and IAX, and if possible, a 1-800 number.
Jared is currently in California on business, but should be back end of this
week. Jared is currently in the process of developing an "agenda" for the
call so that things are a bit structured and not turn into chaos.
Once we finalize a place and time for the conference to be hosted, I will
post more details both here and on the asterisk-doc mailing list.
Please contact me either off list, or on the asterisk-doc mailing list.
As always, if someone is interested in helping document Asterisk, our
website can be found at http://www.asteriskdocs.org. We can also be found
on #asterisk-doc on Freenode IRC.

Why not using fwdnet for that ?
They have several possibilites for dial-in in different countries and are
accessible via
iax and sip to everybody who subscribes (free).
I can have a look into how we can arrange this and maybe put something
together,
that we also can use for future conferences.
As far as I'm aware, fwdnet will not host the conference for us. The
problem we have is not to much HOW to connect to the conference, as it is
that someone hosts it (bandwidth).

If I'm mistaken, please correct me!
I'll have a look at it and see what we'll find out. Can't be that much traffic. If that's not
an option, i will gladly sponsor some bandwidth, and we can hook numbers a fwdnet number
in there, that gives people at least some local phone numbers to get in.
It would just require, that i set the box up first. The box i've got the spare bandwidth on is
hosted in the US, 100 mbit uplink, 8+ gbit backbone to the site. That should be plenty.
Kind regards,

How many people and how much bandwidth do you expect to need? I probably
can spare a linux box with bandwidth assuming it's with the range of
bandwidth I can spare.
Leif: feel free to msg me on MSN regarding this
